I love my baby!

Will is getting so fun (and big) these days!!! He's reaching for things he wants, including me...how sweet!!!! We've started solids, which is SO funny! We tried pears on Saturday morning for the first time, and he gaged!! Ha! Am I an awful mommy b/c I thought it was funny?? We tried them again yesterday and this morning, and he liked them much better! We've also introduced him to peas, sweet potatoes, and squash (in that order). I think the peas smelled the worst, but all in all, not too bad. We borrowed a jumper from Chad and Katie (Chad is Cory's brother), and Will LOVES it. He gets so excited!

Motherhood brings so much joy! ...and confusion! Last night he had a hard time going to sleep...possible reasons 1) he had a big exciting weekend with his Nana 2) he had a burp that we didn't get out 3) he wasn't tired enough 4) he was overtired. We decided that he was just overtired, but that was after some crying and finally some cuddling from mom and dad. Sometimes having a baby is really exhausting...you want to pick them up when they cry, but if you do, you're setting yourself up for more crying the next time you put them down (I know this from experience!)

Here are some pics from the past few weeks!!

What's up mom!

Cory got him his first set of dog tags in Chicago...I didn't realize this was such an important milestone...haha!

Look! I can almost sit up on my own!

I can play with my toys...I just love figuring out new things.

So far, my mommy has figured out that I like to study things...seems like I'm going to be a thinker :)

My daddy makes me laugh!

Andy and Martha! She was 34 weeks in this picture...doesn't she look great!!

Awwww...big smiles for daddy

Will's 4 month check up!

Hello! We went to the doc today for Will's 4 month check up! They took his weight, length, and head circumference. Here are the stats:

Weight: 15 lbs 7 oz, in the 75th percentile
Length: 26 inches, in the 90th percentile
Head Cir: 41 cm, in the 25th percentile
haha...don't worry, he doesn't look like he has a small head!

Just to remind you, his stats at birth were:
Weight: 8 lbs even
Length: 20 1/4 inches
Sorry, don't know his head cir. at birth :)

Quite a difference, huh?? He's growing so fast!!

We also talked about Will starting to eat foods other than formula...so exciting! Since I didn't breastfeed, I am determined to make his baby food. From what I've heard, it's not too difficult and it is a huge money saver! The doc told us to start him on rice cereal, so tonight we tried it out!! We mixed a tablespoon of rice cereal with a couple tablespoons of formula. It smelled awful :)...they could at least make it smell ok for the sake of parents! Anyway, it was so cute..he looked really confused when I stuck the spoon in his mouth. I think he swallowed some of it, but mostly it ended up on his face :) See below!

ha! This is from tummy time the other day...I couldn't resist posting!

What are you doing to me, mommy??

So cute!

Like I said, I think he swallowed some, but lots of it ended up on his face!

But we had some fun!

Can I stop now, mommy?

Appetizing, huh?? Ga-ross!
