Jungles and Legos

Hey y'all! I've been busy! Will is almost walking...but he is a FAST crawler! He is hard to keep up with! I can't believe he is turning 1 in two weeks...where has the last year gone?? This time last year, he was kicking the heck out of my bladder! I just couldn't wait to meet my little man, and now he's almost 1, almost a walking, almost talking, almost all grown up {this is the sappy mom in me coming out!}.

Looking back on this year, I have LOVED staying at home with my son and would encourage any mom who can make the numbers work out to do the same! The precious time I've spent with him is irreplaceable. Although the day to day things are kinda boring most days, I know my son better than anybody, hands down! I love that we have that special bond that no one else does!

ok, ok....on to my new paper stuff! I love the idea of a jungle theme boys b-day party! So bright and colorful and so many different directions to go! I did the invitations for this party and am working on the banner this week (will post pics soon).

I was asked to do a few things for a Lego party! How fun?!?!!? Well, I had so much fun creating the invitations, banner, and favor tags! Here's a few views of the banner. I'm only showing "Turner" but it says "Happy Birthday Turner". How fun to make the layer behind the letters look like Lego's? After I took these pics, I punched a hole in each top corner for the ribbon. I chose a blake and white striped ribbon.

Favor tags!

The invitation! It took me a while to make the Lego's but I think the effort was definitely worth it! I put these with white envelopes, no liner. Price for items shown are: invitations - $25 for 25 invitations and envelopes. Banner - $25 for banner and ribbon. Favor tags - $15 for 35 tags. The jungle invotes are also $1 per invite and envelope!

Will's birthday invites are DONE!

My son is 10 months old and plans for his Wild Wild West first birthday party are in full swing! I have actually been planning since he was born (ok, ok...before I even had him, I had the theme). I am SO excited!! Can you tell?!?!!??

I finally finished the invites...and here they are!

I'm using lots of the blue, red, black and brown. The envelopes are white with a red liner.

Much much more to come!!! Things I'm working on this week: the menu! I've got to solidify what exactly we're having. Since it's a lunch time party, and it is in November (yay fall!), we're having chili and corn chowder for the main dishes. For the desert, there will be a rice crispy bar. I'll make all the rice crispy treats the night before, cut them into squares, and put them on a lollipop sticks. The idea is to drizzle caramel, chocolate or peanut butter on them then dip them into various toppings (crushed oreos, snickers, heath bar, and a few others). Doesn't that sound delicious!! Of course, we'll have birthday cake too! So, I've got to get a list together of all the sides we need, and maybe appetizer items, too. AND, I've got to do a menu sign that coordinates with the invitations...When I get that done, I'll post it!

Mustache baby shower goodies!

My friend Jessica Smith asked me to do the paper goods for a baby shower she was hosting! It was a double baby shower and both women were having boys...it was the second baby for both as well. She wanted it to be fun and relaxed. Here's what we came up with...

Let's start with the invitations. The theme was "Little Mr. Men" using mustaches and lots of boy colors, blue and red! I was so excited about these, and thought they turned out cute! I did an envelope liner in a red houndstooth...I actually used a few different red and white patterns; stripes, polka dots, houndstooth. Jessica also wanted to include an insert with a wish list for each mommy...you can see this in the second picture!

These were the cupcake toppers I did. I attached these toppers to simple popsicle sticks.

Water bottle covers! So easy to do and makes you event look so personal and adorable!

I also did a banner for the shower as well, but didn't get a picture of it :( It said "Little Misters"....you'll just have to take my word for it that it was super cute!

For any event, I am happy to do the invites, and actually mail them out for you as well. All I need is the addresses in spreadsheet form. This is a huge time saver plus saves shipping costs of me mailing the invites to you!

I've also done a Tinkerbell birthday party recently, and I'm working on a Lego party now!! So excited!!

Invites for Liz

I'm so excited to show you what I found! I have Hobby Lobby adventures at least every other week to see what treasures I can find in the paper department, and today did not disappoint!

I was looking for oranges and burgundy's, either together or separate. See below for a few ideas for your invites... And, keep in mind any of these papers can be used for your favor tags or as a background for your out of town boxes/bags. I've shown all these papers with craft paper envelopes (I LOVE using these! They make it look so unique).

Butterflies...I love "nature" related paper. It has some orange, but not any burgundy, which is why I show it with the orange paper.

Burgundy! The lighter color is cream...If we used this as the liner, I would use solid burgundy with cream on top for the invite (like your wedding invites).

Orange! If this were the liner, I would use orange as a background with cream on top for the invite.

I found these three...the polka dot one is super cute, but I don't know if you want the "cute" feel to the invites. The other two are shown in pictures below with envelopes.

I really like this! There is a little burgundy and some orange (it does not match exactly to the orange your using, but you can't really tell) But, I would use burgundy paper with white on top for the invite. Or just white.

This is probably my favorite...I LOVE the pop of orange! This paper really incorporates the orange and burgundy in a classic way! I would do this with an orange invite. The orange in the picture matches your orange :)

I actually think this paper would be perfect for tags with a layer of orange on top! Or the paisley pattern...both would look SO good!

Hello hello! I have been asked to do some bridal luncheon invites by my friend Dianne's mother-in-law, Eunice (so exciting b/c I LOVE weddings!). The client sent me an invite for the wedding and asked me to do something similar but a more casual version. I'm not going to post the invite b/c I doubt they want the world (or the 13 people who read this blog...ha!) knowing where they are getting married and the day. The invites were really nice, and the colors went very well together...a dark purple/burgundy and orange! I'm working on this and will send PDF's or JPEG's when I get a proof done.

The bride, Liz, also asked me about tags and out-of-town tags, so I'm posting some examples for her to see. So, here ya go! Hope you like them!

Eunice - I've posted some orange patterned paper below that I can use as envelope liners for the bridal luncheon. If this is too casual or too "cute" looking, we can always use solid orange for the liners, or we could use a combination of papers. If we made the liners fun like these, I was thinking of doing the invites on white paper with orange writing and maybe an accent somewhere in the burgundy OR writing in burgundy and an accent in orange...either way, I think it would look great!

I included the insert from the invitation to show that the oranges match.

Liz - the tags start here!

I can do any shape really...these are ovals. The paper is pattered on both sides so I had to put a piece of cream on top to write on.

This is probably the most popular tag shape that I do. Again, this paper is pattered on both sides as shown above. These would be the most expensive type tags b/c I have to tie in the ribbon and paste the cream paper on top.

These are super cute, easy, and inexpensive! The "miss you" is a stamp. I also have stamps that say "Ooo-la-la", "Thank You" (this on is cursive like the "miss you"), "happiness", "friendship", "happy everything".

Couple other examples...I can cut these in any length up to 12 inces tall...but I doubt you'd want them that big :) This one is 3.5 inches, plenty big for a favor tag.

This is the same tag shape but cut out of paper that is pattered on both sides. You could probably stamp on these, but you'd have to use black ink. The good thing is, there is A TON of paper out there, and there's bound to be some with your wedding colors ;)

Yet another tag shape...I think this is 3.5 inches as well.

Onto out-of-town tags/labels. I did these for Dianne and Jeb. This is cream paper on top of pattered paper. These are easy for me to do....have to design, cut, and assemble. They simply wanted their names and the date, but you can have a message to your guests if you want. The options are limitless!

This "Thank you" tag is what I used for labels for gift bags (I used brown craft paper bags...cheap and artsy looking) for Dianne's bachelorette party. Again, simply cream paper on top of pattered paper.

Sorry for the weird display on this one. I made this today, just playing around in Photoshop. I saved it as a JPEG and this is how it was saved :)

I found this digital pattern that I haven't used in a while and put an "N" on it (hopefully I'm right about this being your new last initial?) and a short note to your guests....this can be any size, and would look good as a favor tag OR as a gift bag label. I could see us making 2 versions, one for the out-of-town bags and one for favors!

Some new things...

Hello all!! I've been very busy with a sick baby :( BUT, I have had the pleasure of making some invites and favor tags for some friends that I would like to show you... See below!

My friend Jessica wanted me to make favor tags for her daughter Camille's first birthday! She ordered chinese style take out boxes to use for her favors and needed a little something for the front saying thank you. I couldn't quite figure out how to get the pictures from her facebook to my blog, so here's the link to one of the pictures of the boxes!

This is for a St. Patrick's Day themed party! As you can see they called it a "pub night"...what a fun way to celebrate! Well, I made the invites and mailed them for the client. So, I also made return address labels with their address on them.

I've also been working on some more baby stuff. I found these great "baby update" cards and want to do some of my own. And, I'm making some month by month cards to use when I take Will's monthly picture with his gigantic bear! Stay tuned!!!!

Invites for Kate

Kate-see the images below for a few examples to choose from. The carriage stamp below would look cute at the top if you decide to nix the horse idea. Let me know which you like the best!

This one needs a little explaining...I liked this idea, but my cut outs were a little big to fit at the top of the invite. But, if you like the idea of this one, I can cut out the scallop and the circle in a smaller size using my cricut. I didn't want to get it out while Will was asleep :) Once the shapes are smaller, this will look much better!

This is actually only half of a stamp...I thought the whole thing made it look too western, but just using the half was a nice touch.

One more thing...If you think this is too much info on the invitation, I can make a separate enclosure card that will go in the envelope with some of the info on it. Perhaps the registry and RSVP info?
